PSA Ad
In this task, I had to create some type of ad that raised awareness to the downfalls of alcohols. I was able to create a compelling ad which is shown below along with my explanation for the design.
When beginning this project, I had an idea of what I wanted to do. I knew I did not want it to be an ad that contained a lot of colors or complexities to it. I wanted to make sure that I got the point across with no distracting features on the ad. I choose to keep a black background because I feel as if you are flipping through a colorful magazine and you see an all-black page, you are going to stop and look at it. You are going to stop and look at it because it is different from the rest, it stands out and that is why I kept this background since I knew it was going into a magazine. I also wanted the pictures to be the main focus of the ad. To make sure this happened, I put them against the black background and made sure that I inserted minimal text that didn’t stand out as much. As for the text, I put in quotes that would get the point across and hopefully cause people to really think about whether they should drink and if so, how much they will be consuming.
I feel like this ad would work well as a PSA for alcohol awareness because it gets a person’s attention and once it has their attention, it causes them to think. It gets right to the point and shows the negatives of drinking and that could possibly get them to stop and maybe show others the ad so they will agree to do the same.
